December Posting Meme (not really)

 There appears to be a December posting meme going around; I'm not entirely sure what the actual meme entails, but the gist seems to be regular (daily?) posting on (possibly) suggested topics? I don't know.

In any case, while I'm not up to daily posting, I *would* like to post more regularly, especially if DW is going to be becoming more active with some portion of the exodus from tumblr. And I like the idea of soliciting ideas for posts! So, here's my variant:

Suggest a topic, ask me a question, nothing off limits (though of course I reserve the right to be only as forthcoming as I feel comfortable with!). I will post. . . I'd say at a rate of at least once per week, until the topics run out. No time limit on when a topic can be suggested in this post -- as long as the post is up, feel free to drop a line. And feel free to leave me multiple topic suggestions!

So in summation: Ask me a question, or leave me a topic you'd like to hear me talk about, and I will write up a post in response at some point relatively soon after receiving it. :)

Tell me about one book that you return to over and over like an old friend. What is it about that book?

Edited to add (since it looks like I asked a question similar to above, lol!): On the writing side of things, are there themes, motifs, character archetypes or dynamics that you've found crop in your writing, time after time?

Oh don't worry. I will gladly answer all variations of book questions, no matter how slight the difference from the last book question. Because BOOKS.

If one was to boil some old books to make a substrate for mushroom culturing, what books would you recommend?

Goodness! Now that is a book question I have never been asked before! I shall ponder.

(Do books make good mushroom substrate? Is this a thing that is done? Or is it a purely hypothetical question?)

Cellulose does. And boiling old books is a decent source of sterile cellulose. Or so I'm told. It is a thing that I've contemplated doing, but haven't yet.

Good to know! I shall tell my mother, next time she is going on one of her minimalism is peace, why do you need MORE books, rants, that I am saving them to be mushroom food when the apocalypse hits!

(FWIW, she is very pro-book. She's just the sort of reader that reads a book and then is done with it and gives it away, and doesn't understand the way that my father and I keep all our books for the joy of simply being surrounded by books.)

Oh goodness. I actually haven't been keeping up with it -- I never watched again after Wes was killed? Not that I swore it off because of that, more that it made me sad and so I was less excited when it came back on and then I broke up with my ex and left the DVR that had all the saved episodes with him, so there was an additional barrier to reentry of having to figure out where to watch the episodes I missed.

But I can absolutely talk about the parts of HTGAWM that I saw!
